  1. You've reminded me of some great performances there !

I haven't worked out a top 10 yet but the standout female performance for me was definitely Luminita Gheorghiu for Child's Pose with Paulina Garcia - Gloria, Juliette Binoche - Camille Claudel 1915, Lake Bell - In A World, Robin Wright - The Congress, Marion Cotillard - Rust & Bone all figuring along with several of your picks - Berenice Bejo/Julie Delpy/Greta Gerwig/Amy Seimetz. I haven't seen Blue Is The Warmest Colour unfortunately.

On the male side, I'd definitely be adding Tony Servillo for The Great Beauty, Tom Schilling - Oh Boy, Bobby Sommer - Museum Hours, Thomas Schubert - Breathing but I'm not sure where I'd rank them amidst many of your picks. Still haven't seen Nebraska, American Hustle or 12 Years A Slave though.

  2. Fassbender is probably my favorite male performance of the year, and Exarchopoulos is easily my favorite female performance. Great list here.
